After proving his prowess in the field of yoga, Baba Ramdev on Wednesday turned wrestler and took on 2008 Olympic silver medalist Andriy Stadnik in a promotional bout of the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The yoga guru, attired in his traditional saffron langot, surprised all gathered by beating the Olympian and thus avenged the defeat Indian star wresteler Sushil Kumar had suffered at the hands of Stadnik in the Beijing Olympics.
In a one-sided match, Ramdev came out on top 12-0 over Stadnik.
Now Patanjali may be the sponsors of the tournament, but Indians all over can rejoice since it was this Ukrainian who defeated Sushil Kumar at Beijing to reach the final. Sushil got an opportunity to play in repechage and win a bronze medal.
Ramdev bamboozled the foreign wrestler with his yoga moves ahead of the bout and then began his friendly battle with the 34-year-old former European champion.

Ramdev, who is wrestling enthusiast, showed speed and acumen as he showed off several technical moves.
Since it was a promotional bout, Stadnik was a mere spectator as well and allowed Ramdev to have his way. Standnik surrendered after nearly two minutes.
The bout took place during the second semi-final between Punjab Royals and Mumbai Maharathi.
This isn't the first time that Baba Ramdev had wrestled in public. The yoga guru had celebrated the 20th foundation day of his ashram, Divya Yog Mandir Trust in Haridwar, in January 2015 by taking part in a friendly wrestling match against Sushil Kumar.
