Cash crunch was the last thing on Karan Sharma's mind while planning a dream wedding with longtime girlfriend, singer-actress Tiaara Kar, a year ago. The actor, who was last seen in 'Ek Nayyi Pehchaan', will tie the knot today in hometown, Ranipokhri, in Dehradun, and is facing problems with cash payments, thanks to decommissioning of the Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes.

"The wedding organisers wanted payment in cash, so last weekend, I asked my father to withdraw money from the bank. When the higher denomination currency notes were declared invalid, I was stunned. D-day is here and we cannot postpone the wedding. At the same time, we need to make payments, that too, in cash. When I reached my hometown, I directly went to meet the arrangers. It was hard to convince them, but they have given me a few days to clear their payments," says Karan.

Over the last few days, the actor has managed to collect some funds -- his relatives have been queuing up outside banks and ATMs to withdraw notes of smaller denomination. "The problem is the daily cap of Rs 2,000 on withdrawal per card. Yes, I am worried and trying to sort things out. Although I am facing problems, I fully support the step on the government's part," he says.
