According to various 'leaks' by leading technical sources the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus are significantly upgraded than their predecessors. View the comparisons below from the details obtained so far...

Display | 4.7-inch screen, 5.5-inch screen | 4.7-inch screen, 5.5-inch screen |
Processor and OS | A10 chip, iOS 10 | A9 chip, iOS 9 |
Storage and Camera | 3GB RAM, dual camera with OIS feature, substantially larger camera hole | 16/64/128 GB internal memory, 2GB RAM, 12MP main camera with f/2.2 aperture, 29mm lens, phase detection autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, 1/3" sensor size and 1.22 µm pixel size, and a 5MP front-snapper with f/2.2 aperture and 31mm lens |
Headphone jack | Lightning jack | 3.5mm |
Furthermore, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus feature other changes like the inclusion of two speaker grills suggest stereo sound output, a centimetre gap between the two inner cameras enclosed in a pill-shape protruding component, the lack of horizontal antenna lines on the back of the phone. As has been reported many times, the antenna lines have been redesigned and are now present only at the chassis edges.
Apart from camera upgrades, major external design upgrades are tipped for the "OLED iPhone 8" in 2017.
