Actress Sridevi's flower-bedecked body has been moved from the Celebration Sports Club to Pawan Hans crematorium for the funeral. Her remains have been wrapped in a traditional gold and red South Indian saree with a bindi. A snapshot of hers from English Vinglish has been framed.
Rani Mukerji, Vaibhavi Merchant and Manish Malhotra were seated inside the vehicle, in which the actress' mortal remains are being taken to the crematorium in Vile Parle. Apparently, Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan will walk till the crematorium, half way, as they did during actor Rajesh Khanna's demise.
As a mark of respect towards the sudden passing of the Sadma actress and her father Ram Mukerji's demise, Rani Mukerji won't be celebrating her birthday this year. Shah Rukh Khan, Kamal Hassan, Rajinikanth, who did not make it to the condolence meet, will directly arrive at the crematorium.
Sridevi's mortal remains were placed at Celebration Sports Club from 9.30 am and 12.30 pm for members of the public to pay their last respects before the funeral. Thousands of people including celebrities and Bollywood personalities mourned for actress on Wednesday. Since dawn, hundreds of teary-eyed fans and admirers of the late actress, some carrying flowers, had started queueing up outside the club for a final 'darshan' of their idol. After the flower-bedecked body was brought to the club premises, a steady stream of celebrities started alighting from their vehicles and were whisked inside to pay their last respects.

Most were sporting dark sunglasses, carrying flowers or small bouquets. They embraced and sought to console the bereaved family members, quickly moving in from the main entrance and exiting fleetingly from the other side, as fans tried to catch a glimpse.

Sridevi's final journey will commence at 2 p.m from the club to the Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium & Hindu Cemetery at S. V. Road in Vile Parle West, where it will reach around 3.30 p.m, where her last rites with be conducted.

Sridevi's body was flown to Mumbai from Dubai where she passed away around 11 pm on February 24, and from the airport was taken to the Kapoor residence in Green Acres at the posh Lokhandwala Complex. The Green Acres complex has cancelled Holi celebrations as a mark of respect for their departed resident. Despite the late hour, several hundreds of fans kept vigil outside the residence when a motorcade including an ambulance reached there. There was chaos outside her residence, as a large number of fans jostled for a glimpse of their favourite actor.

Sridevi's mortal remains will be taken in this vehicle till the Pawan Hans crematorium from Celebration Sports Club. The truck is decorated with white flowers as the colour of peace was the veteran's favourite colour.
Sridevi, known as Indian cinema's first woman superstar, leaves behind her husband and their two daughters Janhvi and Khushi. The 54-year-old Bollywood icon was in Dubai to attend nephew Mohit Marwah's wedding. Her death sent shock waves across India with those who knew her at a loss to explain how the star could die so suddenly.
At first, it was reported that she died of cardiac arrest, triggering questions and disbelief. However, it later emerged that she had drowned in the bathtub in her room at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers hotel. As more speculation swirled, the Dubai government's media office said in a series of tweets that the case is now closed.
