On his last day in Tests in 1948, cricket legend Sir Donald Bradman was shockingly dismissed on a duck and hence could not reach a record Test average of 100. Today, we give you some of the many records that the fine batsman created during his career.

Donald Bradman, nicknamed ‘The Don’, has the highest ever batting average in Tests with 99.94.


He has scored the most runs in a single series with 974 runs.

He has 12 double centuries in Tests, the highest ever.

He shares a record for scoring 2 triple centuries along with Brian Lara, Chris Gayle and Virender  Sehwag.

He is the fastest Australian cricketer to reach 1000 runs in Tests.

On 7 occasions Bradman had an average of 100 in a calendar year.

He has scored the most number of hundreds in a single session of play, having achieved the feat 6 times.

Bradman is the only cricketer to score more than 5,000 Test runs against a single opponent. He has scored 5,028 runs against England.

He is the only batsman to score 6 consecutive Test centuries.

The only cricketer to score 3 double centuries in a single Test series.

Bradman was voted the greatest cricketer in the 20th century by Wisden Cricket Almanack in 2000.
