In a shocking incident, on Friday, around 11 am a man was spotted in Katraj, Pune walking on the road with a severed head in one hand and axe on the other. The 53-year-old man identified as Ramu alias Ramchandra Shiv Chavan allegedly beheaded his wife for having an affair.

The man is a resident of a resident of Ganga ocean park society near Bharti Vidyapeeth area. He had suspicions that his wife Sonubai (45) was having an illicit affair with her son-in-law. Enraged by the suspicion, he hacked his wife's head.

A case has been registered at the Bharti Vidyapeeth police station in Pune. Police are investigating the case and interrogating the man.
Inspector Mahendra Chavan of Bharti Vidyapeeth police station, Pune city police said, ''On Friday around 11 am, we received information about a man walking near a residential society. In one hand he had held a severed face and other hand he was holding axe. He was laughing. We rushed to the spot and noticed that he had killed his wife.''

According to police, ''During interrogation, Chavan revealed that he had suspected his wife having an affair with her son-in-law. On Friday, he called her near an isolated area and killed her. He claimed he has no remorse for the act and felt that she had to pay for her deeds. Chavan claims that, his wife had betrayed him after 25 years of marriage.''
