Mosquito menace: BMC slaps notice on Shahid Kapoor

Actor Shahid Kapoor
Actor Shahid Kapoor's flat was inspected by BMC on Friday for mosquito breeding areas after actor Vidya Balan, who lives in the same building, was diagnosed with dengue.

Actor Shahid Kapoor has been served notice by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) after a mosquito breeding ground was found at his flat in a posh Juhu society on Friday.

Just a day after mid-day had reported that actor Vidya Balan was down with dengue, vigilant officers from the health department inspected the building, Parineeti, in Juhu, on Friday morning, where both actors live.

"We visited the building on Friday and found one breeding area at the ground floor where Shahid Kapoor lives. The other was found at the top floor of the building, which is just above Balan's flat. We have issued notice to that resident, too," said an officer from the BMC's epidemiology department.

"We will take appropriate steps against both residents. They have been issued notices and now the magistrate court will prescribe a fine," said the officer.

Balan was diagnosed with dengue soon after she returned from the shoot of Kahaani 2 in the US. Balan and her husband Siddharth Roy Kapur had bought the sea-facing flat for a whopping Rs 14 crore earlier this year.
