Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan makes a blink-and-miss appearance in friend and fellow actor Salman Khan's 'Tubelight' trailer which was launched in Mumbai on Thursday.

Director Kabir Khan has earlier said his film 'Tubelight' required a superstar like Shah Rukh Khan for the guest appearance.

"It's an interesting, exciting role. It's a cameo that was screaming for a superstar. I went to Shah Rukh and told him that there is a cameo role for him and he graciously said yes and did it," Kabir Khan told reporters at an event earlier.

'Tubelight' will see the two stars come together after a gap of 15 years. They were last seen together in full-fledged roles in 'Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam' that released in 2002.

According to reports, Shah Rukh Khan will play a magician in the film.

'Tubelight' is produced by Salma Khan and Salman Khan and directed by Kabir Khan. It is co-produced by Amar Butala. The executive producer is Rajan Kapoor, the associate producer is Garima Mehta and music is by Pritam.

Tubelight will release in cinemas worldwide during Eid on June 23 this year.

'Tubelight' is a war drama set amidst the backdrop of the 1962 Indo-China War.

After blockbusters like 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and 'Ek Tha Tiger', 'Tubelight' is Salman Khan and Kabir Khan's third film together.

'Tubelight' also features Salman Khan's younger brother Sohail Khan and Chinese star Zhu Zhu. 'Tubelight' marks the late actor Om Puri's last Bollywood outing.

Yash Raj Films (YRF) has bagged the overseas distribution rights -- excluding Middle East and North Africa -- for 'Tubelight'. This is Salman Khan Films' first collaboration with YRF for the overseas territory.

Salman Khan's 'Tubelight', however, might not release in Pakistan around the Eid as a few local filmmakers and organisations have demanded the release of the film in the country be put on hold.

The Pakistan Film Distributors Association and the Pakistan Film Producers Association, along with various local film-makers, are actively trying to stall the release of 'Tubelight', citing better business for the Pakistani films scheduled to release at the same time.

Shooting for 'Tubelight' had ended in February earlier this year.
