The reason behind Shah Rukh Khan's impromptu decision to meet MNS chief Raj Thackeray on Sunday night was unclear, until now. At the first look launch of Raees, producer Ritesh Sidhwani had announced that if needed, Pak actress and leading lady Mahira Khan would come down to Mumbai for the film's promotions.
Word is, when this news reached Thackeray's ears, he did not take to it kindly. The MNS chief has been at the forefront of the ban on Pakistani actors in Bollywood. It is learnt that Ritesh was scheduled to meet Thackeray to settle the matter and ensure a smooth release of the film, and SRK decided to accompany him.
The star promised the MNS chief that Mahira would not be part of the promotions and there was no plan to bring her to Mumbai either. All is clear and all is well. No wonder Mahira has not been talking about her Bollywood debut on social media.
