Nawazuddin Siddiqui has had a stressful and a low 2020, as far as his personal life is concerned. While in the month of May, the Serious Men actor's wife Aaliya Siddiqui called for a divorce, in June, his niece called him out for keeping mum on her sexual abuse allegations by Nawaz's younger brother Shamas Nawab Siddiqui.

Though time and again, over the last few months, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has refused to discuss the turmoil in his personal life, in his latest interview the actor opened up on the same. Breaking his silence on divorce, Nawaz was quoted saying in an interview with Pinkvilla, "I genuinely can't speak about my personal issues here. But yes, I hope that I fulfil all my responsibilities towards my kids, in every way possible. Main apne beti ko pyaar bohut karta hoon (I love my daughter a lot). But baki personal life ke baare mein main kuch nahi kehna chahta (But I don't want to say more about my personal life)."
Nawaz's personal life has been under the scanner ever since his wife sent him a divorce notice in May. His estranged wife made startling revelations on social media what with allegations of abuse and misconduct.
Aaliya had reportedly complained in a recent interview that she is unable to pay her children's school fees as Nawazuddin Siddiqui has stopped paying her the monthly allowance. The actor's lawyer has rejected such claims in June, 2020.
Nawazuddin and Aaliya got married 11 years back. They have two children - a daughter and son. Post filing for divorce, the latter even changed her name back to Anjana Anand Kishore Pandey. Aaliya had said in the interview that she wants the sole custody of her children. "I have raised them and I want their custody," she had said.
