The Nhava Sheva police suspect that a decomposed body they found few days ago, is that of Ashad Irshad Khan, the 35-year-old man who was missing from Wadala along with his 5-year-old daughter. It was suspected that he killed her, after he had sent a suicide message about the same to his contacts. Her body has already been found.

However, the head, the legs and other parts were missing. "We have no idea whether it is our brother, but the police suspect it to be Ashad, claiming it is a male. They have sent it for a DNA test,” said Azam Khan, brother of Ashad.

On August 9, the Nhava Sheva police called Azam and his father Irshad Hussain. “They took our DNA test in a Panvel-based hospital. They say that the DNA report will come after 15 days, and confirm if the person found is Ashad or someone else," added Azam.

On July 24, the dead body of Ashad’s daughter Minal was found in the creek near Nhava-Sheva. After this, on the complaint of his wife, Shaziya, the Wadala police registered a murder case against Ashad on July 31. The Wadala police transferred the case to the Nhava Sheva police station. (Read more)
