Controversial former BCCI chief N Srinivasan's presence at the SGM yesterday raised quite a few eyebrows. Srinivasan stands disqualified from being an office-bearer of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) as well as the BCCI in the wake of the Lodha Panel recommendations. However, he was at the meeting by virtue of being a representative of TNCA's Perambalur District Cricket Association.

Refusing to take any questions, he simply pushed and shoved his way to his waiting car. However, he entered the wrong car and only realised his error when former BCCI secretary and Saurashtra Cricket Association honorary secretary Niranjan Shah shouted: "Arey, aapka gaddi idhar hain (your car is here)."

Then, while walking up to his car, a journo asked him how he was eligible to attend the meeting. To this, the Tamil Nadu strongman shot back: "I am more eligible than you are."

Later when BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Chaudhary was asked if the cricket board was inviting the Supreme Court's wrath by allowing Srinivasan to attend the meeting, he said: "A notice for a meeting is a notice, and the notice said that all member units of the BCCI are requested to attend this meeting. As to which individual is chosen to represent a member unit, is their discretion as long as it doesn't violate any court order. That was all I was supposed to examine, which I did," said Chaudhary.
