A cop from the Dahisar police station said, “The missing woman, identified as Soni Brijesh Singh, and her two children — Punit (3) and Mayank (4) — resided at Ashok Van at Dahisar East. Last month, Soni asked him to give her Rs 15,000 to pay the school fee of their kids but the latter refused. On the contrary, he told her that he had a low income and their kids should take admission next year.”
When contacted, Brijesh said, “On July 19, my wife and two kids left home to give clothes for laundry but didn’t return. I registered a missing person’s compliant with the Dahisar police station on the same day but they are still untraceable. I work in a small-scale industry and have a meagre salary.
My wife had mortgaged her gold earrings and also took a loan of Rs 5,000 from her friend in my absence. But the amount wasn’t sufficient enough to help our kids get admission. This led to a lot of fights between us and this is the sole reason why she has left me.”
