"We have been requesting water supply for the past six years, but we are always ignored. We are provided with a few drinking water taps in Kesav Nagar, which is a short walk away. We pay around R300 for this water and its running time is only 5.30pm to 8pm," said a resident of Yadav Nagar, who didn't want to be identified.
Nishi had gone to the pit with her brother, Shiva Rathod, and while washing clothes, she slipped and drowned. "We came to know about the incident around 9.30 pm. The girl's body was fished out by local people, and rushed to Shatabdi Hospital in Kandivli, where she was declared dead," said PSI Uday Dalvi from Dahisar Police Station.
