Cops have charged them with gang rape as they were in connivance

A 17-year-old girl from Bhiwandi was raped by a person she was suspected to be in a relationship with, after two of his accomplices first threatened her parents with a knife. The Shanti Nagar police have registered a case of gang rape as three people were involved, and arrested two of them who are in police custody till February 14.
According to the police, the incident took place on Tuesday in new Azad Nagar in the jurisdiction of Shanti Nagar police station. The survivor, in her statement to police, said that she was at her residence with her parents when the three accused forcibly entered her house. While two of them threatened her parents with a knife, one of them took her inside and raped her.
Survivor lodges case
On Wednesday, she and her parents approached Shanti Nagar police station and registered a gang rape case against the three people. It was registered under Sections 376 (D) (gang rape) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
The arrested accused were identified as Immu alias Imran Khan, 24, and Javed Shaikh, 23. The third accused Kinha is still absconding. "The three accused are known to the survivor and are from her locality. We have arrested two who were produced in court on Thursday and remanded in police custody till February 14," said KD Jadhav, Senior Police Inspector, Shanti Nagar police station.
Charge of gang rape
A senior official from Shanti Nagar police station said, "We have registered a gang rape as the three were in connivance. Two of them had threatened the parents with a knife. During primary investigation we also suspect that the survivor was in a relationship with the accused who raped her."
