Nirmal Nagar police in Bandra arrest pervert auto driver for masturbating in front of girls on their way to college; the girl had clicked a picture of his auto, which was used as evidence against him

He was the classic pervert, but the 17-year-old was not his usual kind of victim. So when the accused, Harikesh Maurya (27), on the morning of October 19, exposed himself to her, the Government Polytechnic College student took a snap of his autorickshaw that was used as evidence against him and led to his arrest a couple of days later.
The girl was headed to college at around 8.30 am when she was spotted by Maurya, who then proceeded to expose himself to her and started masturbating. She increased her pace and upon reaching her college, informed the security guard about the deviant. However, by then, Maurya had made good his escape.

The auto of the accused
The student then approached her principal, Swati Deshpande, and narrated the incident to her, who felt it incumbent to take action as girls in the college would be under constant threat if the matter was not immediately dealt with and lodged a complaint with the Nirmal Nagar police station. To help move matters along, the girl also handed over pictures of the auto rickshaw, along with the auto number, that she had taken after being accosted by Maurya.

Cops speak
Vasudev Jamdade, senior PI from Nirmal Nagar police said, "We has arrested the accused who confessed to what he did. We are appealing to other students to come forward if they have a similar complaint," adding, "The accused lives alone and used to come to the Kherwadi Junction once every three days to masturbate in front of girls."
