The case was later registered at Nizampur police station.
An officer from Nizampur police station requesting anonymity said, “We are yet to arrest the three, as we couldn’t even come up with the sketches of accused because the victim alleged that due to no light in the room she couldn’t see anyone.”
The couple got married in the month of May this year, after which the father, who was working as a labourer, decided to call his unemployed son and had rented two adjoining flats at Bhiwandi.
When asked whether the husband alerted his neighbours, the officer said, "The husband was too scared to call anyone as after he was pushed out of the house at knifepoint, he sat crying. However, her howl could be heard by everyone in the locality but they were too scared to come out and help."
