Man kills child as mother foils rape bid

A man was arrested for beating a year-old to death after attempting to rape the child's mother in Bihar, police said.

Ajay Kumar, in his mid-20s, was arrested Sunday, in Madhepura district for the Saturday killing in Champanagar village, said Superintendent of Police Saurabh Kumar.

The child's mother, who resisted Kumar's rape bid in her house, told police that the suspect attacked the minor due to his anger over the foiled sexual assault, he said.
