Fans of the television show Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi (KRPKAB) are yet to comprehend the reason behind calling time on the family saga. Soon after the channel announced that the daily would be pulled off air later this month, a fan, who goes by the name of Aashi Kumar, created a petition on Twitter against the decision. In a span of two days, over 5,000 supporters have signed up, seeking for an extension to the show, which has, so far, only enjoyed an 18-month run.

Citing that the drama enjoyed a large fan-base online, but struggled with TRPs, producer Yash Patnaik tells mid-day, "I wish more fans had watched it on the channel, rather than on YouTube. The TRP ratings were falling. With a 0.4 rating, what can you expect? The channel had to take a call. The lower the ratings, the lesser the advertising revenue generated for the channel." While it was initially speculated that Jennifer Winget's daily, Beyhadh, also starring Kushal Tandon, was set to be axed, it is now speculated that the thriller has got an extension.

KRPKAB project head Utkarsh Bali, says, "Beyhadh enjoys a TRP rating of 0.6, which is higher than ours." Launched in February 2016, the Shaheer Sheikh and Erica Fernandes-starrer soon grew popular among fans of the web world, where several fans clubs began to attract attention. On Sunday, Sheikh, who plays the lead actor on the show, took to Twitter to write: "How much I am gonna miss Dev and the bond I share with everyone on the sets of KRPKAB (sic)," while his co-star, Fernandes signed off on a more positive note, writing: "All good things must come to a new beginning... may this show always be remembered for this uniqueness."
