When the plane (D1-171), orginating from Jeddah with 286 passengers onboard was flying near Chennai airspace, the woman passenger felt severe pain and the crew alerted the authorities here seeking approval for emergency landing, officials said.

Immediately, permission was granted and a medical team was kept ready for attending to the ailing woman.

As soon as the flight landed, the woman was disembarked along with her two other attendants. She was rushed to a private hospital at Guindy where she is being treated, officials said.
