I hear Amy Jackson suggested South filmmaker Shankar to cast her 'Singh Is Bliing' co-star Akshay Kumar in his upcoming film, 'Robot 2'.

The filmmaker was in talks with Hollywood icon Arnold Schwarzenegger to feature in the Rajinikanth-Amy starrer, but things did not work out with 'The Terminator' star. The makers were then keen on Salman Khan, but he was tied up with his other commitments. That was when Amy, who has worked with Shankar earlier in his film, 'I', suggested Khiladi's name.

Things moved swiftly and Akshay took everyone by surprise with his decision. The film, which will also have a Tamil version, 'Enthiran 2', went on the floors on Wednesday in Chennai.

The South folk are known to be disciplined and begin shooting early morning. This should not be an issue with the Khiladi who wakes up before the crack of dawn.
