"It is a dream come true," says Dhvani Bhanushali about her Bollywood singing debut in Welcome To New York. Bhanushali has lent her vocals to Ishtehaar, featuring Sonakshi Sinha, and sang alongside Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. The soul-stirring number has been composed by Shamir Tandon and written by Charanjeet Charan.
"I was nervous about recording the song on the first day. I was to sing with the legendary Rahat Fateh Ali Khan saheb. Shamir sir asked me to stay focused, yet, at ease. He helped me understand where the song is placed in the film. Khan saheb and I completed the recording within no time. It is an honour to sing with him. Ishtehaar is soulful and melancholic. My second track from Welcome to New York is also set to release soon," Bhanushali says.
Khan too had previously heaped praise on the young singer, stating, "Dhvani has a lovely voice. It's great that she is making her debut with me." Ishtehaar has already garnered over seven million views on YouTube. The singer is thankful that producer Vashu Bhagnani gave her the opportunity to make her debut with this outing. "He gave me this platform and helped me mark my debut with such a beautiful track. I am thankful to him." Recently, Bhanushali joined Sinha to promote the song on Super Dancer.
Bhanushali, 19, made her debut in the industry with MTV Unplugged Season 7. To her credit, sha has several covers, which she uploads on her YouTube channel. Her musical journey kicked off when she was 13, when she was part of a choir in school.
