Mumbai: Three children got injured when the ceiling of a house collapsed while they were studying.

The incident occurred on Thursday evening at around 5pm in one of the flats of Sai Raj building in Rajnagar at Nallasopara (E), where Akshata Surve was taking her regular tuitions in the living room of her flat and suddenly the ceiling collapsed. The students nearly escaped major injuries.

One of the residents of the society living there for the past 15 years on condition of anonymity said, "There have been many such collapses in the building in the last two years. Luckily none was a major accident but we have been constantly asking the builder to get the redevelopment done so that no such incidents are witnessed further."

The building is about 17 years old and a total of 32 families reside in it.
