Shiv Sena leader Pratap Sarnaik said that Salman tweeted in favour of Yakub so that his 'Bajrangi Bhaijan' runs in Pakistan theaters.
'Whatever Salman Khan tweeted was absolutely wrong. He tweeted in favour for Memon so that his film 'Bajrangi Bhaijan' runs in Pakistan theaters,' Sarnaik told ANI.
'But 257 people died in the Mumbai blasts. And despite the terrible incident, he (Salman) being a Mumbai-resident is speaking in favour of Memon. He should be charged with treason. Memon should be hanged,' he added.
Salman had earlier tweeted that Yakub Memon should not be hanged as the real culprit is the latter's brother Tiger Memon.
However, after drawing sharp criticism for his move, Salman retracted his tweets and said he stands by his statement that Tiger Memon should be hanged for his crimes.
