New Delhi: Within a month after getting bail, former Director General, Corporate Affairs, BK Bansal, who was facing a CBI probe in a corruption case, allegedly committed suicide along with his 31-year-old son at their residence in east Delhi on Tuesday.

The two have left separate suicide notes, alleging they were ending their lives because of ‘harassment’ from CBI officials, a senior police official said. Bansal had lost his wife and daughter in July, when they hanged themselves inside their east Delhi flat, while he was in jail. “The maid Rachna entered the flat at 8.50 am and after cleaning the living room, when she went to clean Bansal’s room, she found him hanging from the fan. She rushed to his son Yogesh’s room, but found him also hanging from the ceiling fan. She then informed security guards about the incident,” said Rishi Pal, DCP (East). “We have found one original copy and four photocopies of their suicide notes signed by them inside the rooms. Notes were found strewn across the 3-BHK flat — in the bedrooms, drawing rooms and passageways,” added Pal.

Rachna, told cops she overheard Bansal telling someone that Yogesh had been called for questioning. Responding to the allegations, CBI said, “BK Bansal’s son was neither accused nor summoned by CBI in the ongoing investigation.”
