Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday said that the Sena has written to the Election Commission of India asking whether it has relaxed the MCC
The statement comes after Amit Shah promised that the BJP govt in Madhya Pradesh will arrange a trip to Ayodhya for the state`s people if it retained power.
The letter written by the Shiv Sena (UBT) accused the ECI of practising "double standards" in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
He said the 1987 bypoll in Vile Parle assembly constituency was fought on the issue of Hindutva which led to revoking of Bal Thackeray`s voting rights
He said the double standards applied by the Election Commission are intriguing, yet understandable.
