Port Blair to Sri Vijaya Puram

This decision was announced on September 13, 2024, a step taken to “free India from colonial imprints” according to the Central Government.

Gurgaon to Gurugram

Gurgaon was renamed as Gurugram in April 2016 by the Haryana government, who cited it was done to pay homage to connection of the city with Guru Dronacharya.

Allahabad to Prayagraj

Allahabad was formerly called Prayag, and the UP government changed its name back to Prayagraj in October 2018 ahead of the Kumbh Mela.
