PM Modi meets Bhutanese King

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Bhutanese king Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk where they held discussions on bilateral ties.

According to reports, both India & Bhutan agreed to expand bilateral cooperation in multiple areas.

India and Bhutan will expand cooperation on trade, technology, cross-border connectivity, mutual investments, education and people-to-people connections.

Focus, however, will be on cross border connectivity. The countries to this effect have finalised location survey for first cross-border rail link.

The two sides agreed to consider establishing rail-link between between Banarhat (West Bengal) and Samtse (Bhutan).
