Atishi writes to PM Modi on water crisis

Delhi Water Minister Atishi on Wednesday said that she has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the national capital`s water crisis.

She threatened to go on an indefinite hunger strike from June 21 if the issue is not resolved within a couple of days.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, Atishi said that the city is dealing with water crisis since Haryana isn`t releasing their share of water.

She said that with Haryana not releasing the capital`s share of water, over 28 lakh people are being affected.

The minister lamented that, at a time when Delhiites require extra water due to the excessive heat, there is a water deficit in the national capital.

In her letter to PM, Atishi said, she wrote about the plight of Delhiites amid the unprecendented heatwave & steps taken by her to resolve water crisis.
