BTS: V celebrates 1 year of ‘Layover`
It’s been a year since South Korean boy band BTS member Kim Taehyung, professionally known as V released his solo album ‘Layover’.
V took to Instagram and shared pictures marking the occasion. He wrote, “Although my memory is messed up, happy 1st anniversary of Layover to myself.”
According to the Hanteo Chart, Layover set a new record after it sold over 1.67 million copies on its opening day.
‘Layover’ consists of six songs in total - five tracks and a bonus track. It was released on September 8.
The songs on the album are called ‘Rainy Days’, ‘Blue’, ‘Love Me Again’, ‘Slow Dancing’, ‘For Us’, and ‘Slow Dancing’ piano version.
According to a statement by BigHit, the album marked a slight departure from V’s BTS style and focused entirely on his vocals as he adopted new techniques.
The album aimed to expand beyond K-pop and add elements of R&B, electronic, techno, power-pop and overall an avant-garde approach.
The album attempted to blend in old pop with modern pop, even bringing in some of 1970s synth-pop back.
V is currently in the military fulfilling his mandatory service.
