It is possibly one of the best party games around, especially if you like to dance. Even if you don't and have two left feet like me, Just Dance is a lot of fun and also doubles as a good workout. What innovations has the franchise brought with the new 2022 version? Well, honestly there isn't much. The game is the same one you bought last year only with some 40 new tracks with accompanying instructional videos. There are a lot of collaborations that make for interesting content like there is one done with Claymation from Clay Animation Studio, then another done with 1 million Dance Studio and a song by Todrick Hall. The World Dance Floor is still fun where you can dance with people from around the world and I do like the Kids mode though some of the more popular songs like Baby Shark are no longer on the list and are only available as part of Just Dance Unlimited.

To play you still need your phone and just like last year's version, the controller app is easy to use and functions well. Not having to use a complicated videogame controller also means anyone with a phone can participate in Just Dance 2022. Once the controller app is connected to the game the entire thing can be navigated using your phone. The dance moves overall in the game are easy, but some select songs are harder and some even have an expert level which is too tough for casual gamers. Still, it is fun to see where you lie with your dance skills.

While the game is fun to play we need to talk about Just Dance Unlimited, which is essentially how this game earns most of its money. There are more than 700 playable songs in unlimited and it costs a pretty penny, approximately Rs 2,000 a year. You can try it free for a month before you buy and the variety available in the songs is insane including some Bollywood numbers. While I don't think the price is too much for this much content, the actual push this time around for the version is a lot harder and in your face which I did not appreciate.

Just Dance was a brilliant game last year and it is great this year as well. Providing more of the same with extra neon has worked in its favour. That said, the push to pay for Just Dance Unlimited is a bit aggressive. Since people have already paid for the game, it would be nice to have access to at least three to six months to try out Just Dance Unlimited. If you have last year's version of the game and have a paid subscription to Just Dance Unlimited, the new version adds little value. If this is your first Just Dance, go for it. You can't go wrong even with two left feet.
