Thakker started canine nutrition service The Fit Dog to help pet parents follow a nutritionally rich diet plan, and to get regular updates regarding changes in the health and weight of puppies and adult dogs. Each plan is formulated and updated keeping the dog's needs in mind. She curates diets for puppies transitioning to adulthood, as well as for dogs that require weight loss, joint support, renal and hepatic support, to rectify skin issues and support allergies. She is also an animal communicator and tries to find out how she could help with canine ailments and prescribe the right diet. When Thakker's own dog was diagnosed with thyroid and arthritis, she started looking for guidance, and took a distance learning course from UK, that taught nutrition for canines.
