A quick verdict on the buzz
Mom's the word
For those of us who have those late night cravings for ghar ka khana, M.O.M or Meal of the Moment, is targeted at you. The instant food retail brand promises to recreate the magic of home-style food on the go. We tried out the dal chawal and vegetable biryani (they have poha and upma too). Empty the contents of the pack, add water and microwave it for five minutes. Leave it aside for eight more minutes, and the meal is ready. While we liked the dal chawal for its edgy taste and large portion, the latter was just about okay. But hey, you're getting a decent meal for R60. Your lazy Monday nights are sorted.
Revenge is boring
Taylor Swift's new song, Look What You Made Me Do, is all about her being a new Taylor. Really? Does she want us to buy that? To us, and the rest of the twittering Internet, it sounds very much like the old Taylor - telling people that she always rises from the ashes like a phoenix. Well, it's good that she has her fans, because these same old lyrics have us rolling our eyes. Yes, Kanye hurt you, but boo hoo, time to grow up! It's really time to get back to old Taylor, who was a stellar songwriter.
When art imitates life
If you have ever wondered what would it be like to have a painting come to life, the trailer of Loving Vincent is sure to floor you. The world's first oil painted feature film tells the story of the Dutch Post-Impressionist Legend, told through a canvas of his own works, like The Starry Night, Wheatfield with Crows, Sorrowing Old Man, to name a few. Made out of 65,000 frames of paintings created by 125 painters, this is an animation feature like no other. We are already so enthralled by the trailer that we cannot wait for the film to be released.
