Italy's Jannik Sinner and Belarus' Ayrna Sablenka won their first Cincinnati Open title

Ayrna Sablenka handed over a 6-3 7-5 defeat to Jessica Pegula to win the title. The last time, the Belarusian won a title was the "Australian Open"

In the men's event, Jannik Sinner dominated America's Frances Tiafoe by 7-6(4) 6-2. With this, the 23-year-old became the youngest to register this title on his since 21-year-old Andy Murray won in 2008

An American man hasn't won the title in Cincinnati since Andy Roddick in 2006

Sabalenka moved up a spot to No. 2 in the rankings before the match, then didn't lose a set en route to her 15th WTA title. She had never gotten past the semifinals at Cincinnati, losing three times in that round. Earlier, she missed the Wimbledon with a shoulder injury

The Belarusian joined top-ranked Iga Swiatek as the only player with 10 or more WTA titles since 2020. She defeated Swiatek in the Cincinnati Open semi-final
