India players celebrate a goal v Argentina at Bhubaneswar on Sunday
India men's hockey chief coach Graham Reid hailed his team's never-give-up attitude after they beat Argentina 4-3 with a last-minute goal in the FIH Hockey Pro League at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
After going down in the first-leg of their contest on Saturday, the Indian team bounced back in style the following day. Jugraj Singh scored a brace (20th and 52nd minute) after Hardik Singh opened the scoring (17th).
Mandeep Singh (60th) sealed the win in the final minute of play. "The positive from this game is the mentality of never giving up and making sure we continue to fight till the last minute and last second. This win is a confidence booster. Even if we are down, we know that we can make a comeback. It's a nice thing to have in our armory, but I don't want to keep relying on it," said Reid.
"We had our chances to put the game away and finish it early on, but we will learn from that," he added.
