Players from Maharashtra had good outings on Day One of the inaugural All-India Willingdon JSW Junior Open, promoted by SportsXL, at the Willingdon Sports Club on Thursday.
Maharashtra's Vidan Gupta recovered from a two-game deficit to turn the tables on state mate Mihir Shah, winning 9-11, 10-12, 11-3, 11-1, 12-10 in a boys U-13 contest.

In another all-Maharashtra clash, Ankita Dubey got the better of Shreya Arora 11-2, 11-3, 11-1 to move into the girls U-15 pre-quarterfinals.
