BBC commentator Peter Alliss caused a sexism row by commenting on the short skirt worn by Masters winner Sergio Garcia's fiancée Angela Akins.
As pictures of Angela were shown after Garcia's win, the 86-year-old was heard saying: "She's got the shortest skirt on the campus." BBC confirmed that Alliss believed he was off air when he made the "light-hearted" comment and accepted it was "inappropriate".

The comment didn't seem to go very well with the viewers, who watched the Spaniard beat Brit rival Justin Rose to claim his first ever major on Sunday.
One from the TV audience asked BBC to get rid of Alliss immediately, saying he "ruined" Garcia's "finest moment" with the "disgraceful comment", reported The Sun.
Meanwhile, social media went abuzz about Alliss' comment. Akins and Garcia have been dating for almost two years. They announced their engagement in January and plan to marry in July.
