Serena Williams to receive fashion honour at FIT Gala

American tennis star Serena Williams will be one of the four individuals who will be honoured by Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) at the FIT Gala on April 13 in New York.

Williams will receive the Fashion Icon Breakthrough Award for her accomplishments off the court, like investing in companies that value diversity, launching her apparel line - S by Serena and creating her signature jewellery in collaboration with Signet Jewelers.

Others who will be honoured at the event are TV and film producer Debra Martin Chase, FIT alumna Brandice Daniel and Aerin Lauder, founder of AERIN and style and image director of Estee Lauder.
