Schmidt takes centrestage at Tokyo after snubbing Playboy

German runner Alica Schmidt, who is known as the world's sexiest athlete, is at the Tokyo Games to participate in the 4x400m relay.

According to British tabloid, The Sun, though she loves to pose for the camera, she turned down Playboy's lucrative deal to appear nude for the magazine. The stunner is quite famous on Instagram for her off-the-track glam life that she shares with her 1.8 million followers.

On Instagram, she is the face for her sport and is paid a huge amount by Puma to promote their sportswear.

Her fans increased after she was hired as a fitness coach by football club Borussia Dortmund. She once said: "The focus is on sport - clearly. Social media tends to run alongside. If I don't have time, I don't post a picture. I do not know why I got this title. Sport clearly comes first."

Her decision to keep her focus away from the glamorous life has paid off.

In 2017, Schmidt was part of the German team that finished second in the 4x400m relay event at the European Athletics U-20 Championships in Italy. In 2019, she won bronze in 4x400m relay at the European Athletics U-20 Championships in Sweden.
