Rio de Janeiro: America's top female swimmer Missy Franklin wants to go back to school and live life like a "normal 21-year-old for a while with friends" after a medal-less show at the Rio Olympics.

Franklin, who won five medals in London 2012, including four gold, finished with out a medal at the Rio Games and is now eyeing a break from swimming.
"It (her performance in Rio) has been really disappointing. I think I need a break," Franklin told NBC recently.
"I need to take some time and really just be a normal 21-year-old for a while, spend some time with friends. I'll be going back to Cal-Berkeley (University of California, Berkeley) this fall, so I'm so excited to be back at school. I've actually missed school so much. But really, I just can't wait to get involved in classes again and simply do all this stuff that really makes me who I am," added Franklin, who is a student of psychology at the university and aims to be an elementary school teacher at kindergarten or even in the special education division.
