PNB beat CAG, BPCL in semis

Punjab National Bank (PNB) dashed the semi-final hopes of CAG (Comptroller & Auditors General), defeating them by a comfortable 4-1 margin in a concluding Pool B league match of the 49th Bombay Gold Cup Hockey Championship, organised by the Mumbai Hockey Association Limited and played at the MHAL Stadium, Churchgate yesterday


Punjab National Bank (PNB) dashed the semi-final hopes of CAG (Comptroller & Auditors General), defeating them by a comfortable 4-1 margin in a concluding Pool B league match of the 49th Bombay Gold Cup Hockey Championship, organised by the Mumbai Hockey Association Limited and played at the MHAL Stadium, Churchgate yesterday.

For the winners, Arjun Antil scored two goals, while Jitender Saroha and Hardeep Singh scored one each. Chandan Singh netted the lone goal for the losing side.

The Punjab outfit's win confirmed BPCL's (Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited), Bangalore passage to the semi-finals from this pool.
