World No. 1 Novak Djokovic said he supports "fully" the WTA's decision to suspend its tournaments in China over concerns about the safety of female player Peng Shuai, who accused a top Communist Party official of sexual assault.

"I support fully the WTA's stance because we don't have enough information about Peng Shuai and her well-being," he said after performing double duty to lead Serbia into the semis with a come-from-behind win over Kazakhstan. Djokovic first beat 36th-ranked Alexander Bublik 6-3, 6-4 to make it 1-1, and then teamed up with Nikola Cacic to beat Andrey Golubev-Aleksandr Nedovyesov 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 in the decisive doubles rubber.
