Vidhyarthi Krida Kendra, Parel, under the auspices of Maharashtra Kho-kho Association, organised a state level kho-kho tournament from January 22 to 26.
Shirsekar Mahatma Gandhi Sports Academy emerged victors in the senior section while Nava Maharashtra Sangh, Pune came second. Fr Agnel Gymkhana claimed honours in the junior category with Vihang Krida Mandal being runners up.
Politician Aditya Thackeray and former Indian women's cricket team captain Diana Edulji inaugurated the tournament. "Such tournaments inspire and mould new players for leagues at the national level," reckoned former India kho-kho captain and the current secretary of Vidhyarthi Krida Kendra, Parag Ambekar.
