PV Sindhu needed an extra dose of motivation following her semi-final loss at the Tokyo Games and that came from her father PV Ramana whose wish for a "gift" was duly fulfilled by his world-conquering daughter.
Ramana revealed on Sunday that he had to motivate her to concentrate on her match against China's Bing Jiao in the bronze medal play-off as she was sad after losing her semi-final to Tai Tzu Ying.
"I told her, âconcentrate today. Think that you are giving me a gift and play'," Ramana told reporters here.
