Chamonix, trained by Pesi Shroff and ridden by PS Chouhan, posted an easy victory in the feature race, the Byculla Club Trophy, at the Mahalaxmi racetrack on Sunday. Chamonix clocked 2m:58.272s for the 2,800m trip, on account of the relatively slower fractions in the early part of the race.
Trainer Shroff ended the day with a double as he had earlier won the Truefitt & Hill Trophy with Impunity ridden by Neeraj Rawal.
Running Star (Excellent Art - Missing You) justified her on-money status when she ran away with the Y M Chaudhry Memorial Trophy by a widening margin of eight lengths. Running Star was trained by Malesh Narredu and ridden by Yash Narredu.
In the opening race of the card, the Ibrahim A Rahimtoola Cup, Liam, trained by Ms Nazzak Chinoy, after racing closer to the wrong end of the field until turning for home, surged ahead with gigantic strides to sweep past the field. Jockey YS Srinath piloted the winner.

Trainer SK Sunderji and jockey R Ajinkya, who, of late, have been regularly scoring with well-supported horses, sent out one more winner on Sunday when Nolan, carrying 61 kg on the back, inflicted a crushing defeat on his rivals in the Municipal commissioner's Trophy.
In the Dr I C Nagree Trophy, jockey S Saqlain guided the Vinesh-trained Finch to a shock victory. Finch sprang a surprise at the odds of 10-to-1, decisively beating Alpha Domino and Chat, when the on-money favourite Scaramanga abruptly stopped after the start, ejecting jockey YS Srinath. Saqlain ended the day with a brace when, despite looking beaten, he managed to squeeze extra juice out of the Faisal Abbas-trained The Protector to bag the Mathradas Goculdas Trophy.
