Ahilya Harjani and Divya Vaidya fired reigning champions Bombay Scottish (Mahim) to the girls' team championship final of the MSSA inter-school badminton tournament at the Cricket Club of India's (CCI) badminton courts yesterday.
Bombay Scottish defeated Ryan International's Stuti Agarwal and Simran Singhi 2-1 to book a spot in the final against St Anne's High School, who defeated Balmohan Vidyamandir English School (Dadar) 2-0.
Scottish's Vaidya lost the opening game 12-21, 9-21 to Agarwal. But, Harjani defeated Singhi 21-11, 21-10 in the second game to level the scores 1-1 before combining with Vaidya to defeat Agarwal and Singhi 21-18, 26-24 in the doubles tie.
In the boy's group, defending champions VN Sule Guruji English, (Dadar) beat Chatrabhuj Narsee Memorial School, Vile Parle 2-0 in the semi-final.
VN Sule won both the singles matches. Mohit Jeste beat Pulkit Dalmiya 21-14, 21-5 and Pratik Kishore defeated Dhruv Joglekaru00a021-12, 21-15. In the other semi-final, Jasudhben Memorial School (Khar) defeated OLPS (Chembur) 2-1.
