Meanwhile, Hong Kong's Ho Kwan Kit and Doo Hoi Kem combined well to fashion a 3-0 win over Chinese Taipei's Liao Cheng-Tiang and Huang Yu-Chiao to enter the junior mixed doubles championship round. In the final, the duo will take on another Chinese Taipei pair Sun Chia-Hung and Chiu Ssu-Hua, who defeated North Koreans Kim Ok Chan and Kim Jinju 3-1 in the other semi-finals.
Kolkata lass Mukherjee made it to the junior girls' main draw as the topper in Group 13, following impressive wins over Ruvini Kannangara of Sri Lanka (3-1), Ri Yong Hae of DPR Korea (3-0) and Lee Seul of Korea (3-0).
The junior India No 2 Mukherjee, of Adarshya Vidya Niketan, Naihati faces sixth seed and world No 8 Manyu Wang of China in the first round of the main draw.
