Pranav, who scored an amazing 1009 not out for his school KC Gandhi in the HT Bhandri inter-school tournament against Arya Gurukul Vidyamandir in Kalyan, was to play today for Modern CC against Young Mohammedan CC in the Bombay Junior Shield organised by Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).

However, the wonder kid will not be parading his skills at Azad Maidan. His coach Mobin Shaikh revealed Pranav is ill while the young batsman's father Prashant cited his son's Prelims examinations which start on Monday.

Dhanawade Sr told SUNDAY mid-day that Pranav attended a function organised by his school on Saturday evening. "Pranav has not been keeping well for the last two to three days. His SSC exams also are a few months away so I decided to rest him for today's match," said Shaikh.

It's time to study
"My prelims are starting on Monday. Now, I have to spend time studying and that's why I am not playing Sunday's match," said Pranav.
