Ritwik Bhattacharya, the first-ever squash player from India to participate in the 2002 Commonwealth Games is convinced that the Indian team has the firepower to win medals, at least in the women's doubles and mixed doubles categories, at the forthcoming Commonwealth Games to be held in Glasgow from July 23 to August 3.

"Although squash was introduced in the Commonwealth Games in 1998, it has been a low-profile event for India. But, this year I feel that is set to change.

With talented players like Saurav Ghosal (World No 15), Dipika Pallikal (World No 10) and Joshana Chinappa (World No 21) amongst others, I am confident that we can win medals in the women's doubles and mixed doubles event," said Bhattacharya on the sidelines of the announcement of the 2nd CCI-PSA International Squash Championship that will be held at the Cricket Club of India from July 1 to 6.
