Police arrest three for robbery of World Cup journalists

Police said Thursday they had arrested three suspects for the armed robbery of a group of World Cup journalists in their hotel outside Johannesburg.

The gang broke into the lodge at Magaliesburg, northwest of Johannesburg, early Wednesday while three journalists covering the Portuguese team were sleeping.

Police said in a statement they had recovered some items that had been stolen from two Portuguese and one Spanish journalist when the armed gang ransacked their hotel, stealing passports, money and photographic equipment.
